Stress Management Advice For Young Adults
I am fairly sure that the majority of the readers of this article will agree that the teenage years are far from easy. I would go as far as to say that todays teenagers have never had it so tough. What with the constant peer pressure of their friends to the school examinations plus the stress that their parents put on them; it can be quite tough. So how can we as parents attempt to help our beautiful teenage children cope with all these pressures and stresses?
“I blame the parents” is a statement that is often banded about. At times I agree with the statement as I sometimes can not understand the amount of young teenagers who are still out and about late at night. I would most certainly not allow my kids to be out so late. So how come the parents of these teenagers are happy for them to still be out?
I certainly do not claim to know all of the answers to this subject. I am purely a web marketer who spends his day promoting a number of websites with regards to subjects such as working with companies that provide cheap mobile telephone calls, DVD authoring and about stuttering treaments. I therefore am not some kind of expert when it comes to all aspects of bringing up a teenager. I do however have a teenage daughter myself and am trying my best to ensure that she has a happy and as stress free as possible teenage experience.
I try to achieve this by setting certain boundaries. She has to be in by a certain time at night; she needs to ensure that all of her homework is completed before she does venture out; she is asked to keep her room tidy and she is also required to help around the house.
If she can stick to these simple rules then she is able to stay up as late as she wants, within reason of course; she is allowed to have her friends around for sleepovers and she receives a fairly hefty sum of pocket money to spend each month.
There are the old hormones and mood swings to contend with. When this happens I merely walk away to let the situation calm down!
