Will any media call out the Penguins’ stars?

Who knows. Malkin was a disgrace last night. It worked out for the Wings. The whole team appeared to lose their cool. The person who should be calling them out is Bylsma.

Obviously I don’t like either Malkin or Crosby BUT if they lost and didn’t show any emotion as they were losing then people would be asking “Why don’t their stars show emotion? How come as their losing they just skate up and down the ice and don’t cause any problems?”
If I was a Pens fan,I’d be very happy to know that these two guys are pissed at perhaps losing another Cup.I know you’d rather they just put their heads down and lived to fight another day but that’s not how hockey works.Show you’re pissed and knowing they play in Pittsburgh the next game, perhaps opens the teams eyes..”Hey if they can show emotion, why not us” type thing.

Good Question!
Yesterday, I went to NHL.com and the first article I see is about how the Pens believe that they are wearing down the Wings. I looked at the article and the writer was completely supporting this idea. He spelled out why the Pens were in a stronger position to win and Game 5 and eventually the Stanley Cup. This really got on my nerves and got me very fired up for the game.
Today I went back to NHL.com to see what they would say about the Pens behavior in Game 5. I found an article titled For Penguins, a game to forget. The story went on and on about how well the Pens came out playing and how close the game was in the 2nd period. The rest of the article was full of quotes by Pens players discussing how close the game was when they were at full strength.
I was waiting for the writer to let Malkin, Crosby, Talbot, etc. to have it for their bad behavior, but he was already looking forward to Game 6!
I really expected NHL.com to be unbiased, but it didn’t look at way to me!
If Peyton Manning, Lebron James, Tiger Woods, Mike Piazza, etc.acted this way during a game, the media would let them have it, but not the darling Pens!

Outsourcing Done Right
As you pointed out, Crosby and Malkin lack discipline, and maturity. Both of them have leadership roles on the team, Crosby being the captain and Malkin an alternate captain, and should be setting a positive example for the rest of the team. Both have failed to live up to that on several occasions. Maybe they were thrown into their roles as team leaders before they were ready. Maybe they need to bring in a veteran to beat them into shape.
Datsyuk and Zetterberg entered the league under different circumstances. When they joined the team, they weren’t expected to lead, just play hockey. They joined a team led by the likes of Steve Yzerman, Brendan Shanahan, Nicklas Lidstrom, and Igor Larionov, etc, people who wouldn’t put up with any of the things that Crosby and Malkin are displaying.

Give me one solid example of them being “spoiled brats” and then I’ll try to see it your way. Otherwise, I don’t see where you’re coming from.

Suspended for WHAT! LMAO
If I were a coach, a GM or a player and my team was getting throttled in a Stanley Cup Finals game and it was out of hand, I would EXPECT the players with heart to take some runs at guys and to send a message that they will not roll over. I can GUARANTEE you that Gordie Howe would been throwing some elbows in a 5-0 playoff drubbing….I say that with 100% certainty….Ted Lindsay, same thing.
In fact, most of the great captains throughout NHL history would have got their whacks in……Rocket Richard…….Bobby Clarke would have broken Datsyuk or Zetterberg`s leg by now. Messier would have taken some numbers. It says MORE about a player`s leadership ability if he is the one to step up because often times it will be 3rd or 4th liners drawing that assignment but Crosby seems to be very passionate and hates to lose and will do anything to win.
BTW……..he is not ready to be a captain! That is ASININE. His SECOND consecutive Stanley Cup Finals appearance at 21 years old!! Has ANYONE ever accomplished that feat at that age….not that I recall. Steve Yzerman was over 30 before he finally LED his team to the Finals….where they lost.
Crosby is heads and tails above ANY Red Wing in history at this point in his career in terms of ability and leadership……take a look at Datsyuk and Zetterberg`s play at 23, 24…25 years old. This KID is 21 and already has 60+ playoff points….a second place finish in Conn Smythe and ABSOLUTELY another top 3 finish in Conn Smythe voting again this year……….just think about that and let it sink in……not a good captain or a good leader….a superstar only in his own right…..lack of sportsmanship….sportmanship, its hockey, not golf!

Bob: Detroit got whupped in game 4 and you didn’t see the Red Wings acting like little kids and going after Pittsburgh players. It doesn’t help the Penguins, it just shows that their loss is getting to them. It makes them look foolish.
Did you watch the game or just look at the score? Pittsburgh scored a short handed goals then 2 more, all within the span of 5 or 6 minutes. It drained the energy out of Detroit. That makes it a whupping.

Bob- Seriously, get crosby’s balls out of your mouth. I have never seen a person defend a player as much as you. He doesn’t deserve it. He’s been in the league for what, 3 years or so? I wouldn’t know, and i honestly don’t care. But either way, he hasn’t been in the league that long, and doesn’t deserve the respect you give him. He, along with the rest of his team, looked like a bunch of goons in their loss. A team of class, like the Red Wings, don’t do that type of garbage. Jesus you are a tool.
I’m not going to lie, that’s fairly funny. Why report for it? And i don’t vote for myself big guy, because most answers take 3 or 4 votes for best answer…and i don’t have the time(nor energy) to do that. I actually have a life in hockey. The creepy thing…you stalking my questions! And hey, people need some help and I’m just a straight genuis…right Bob? BUT anyway, i believe others will find this moment funny and i don’t take it as embarrassing. I’m sure you’ve used that tip for years now though. (But what’s the wait Bob, I’m sure you’re a 40, 45 year old virgin?)

Some of what I am seeing again is the double standard of head hits, and cheap shots which have become a part of this series clearly by one team and one team only, Again, this isn’t “old time hockey” anymore. Newer rules are in place and they should be followed however they aren’t.
Wonder why?
There is right way and a wrong way. PITTSburgh is showing us all the classless way to respond and react when down.

These two little twits are a couple whining hypocrites, they cry when ever someone looks crossed at them, but then go out and do intentional dirty BS, I am thinking specifically of Crosby hacking Autterburgs knee, and the cowardly **** ending that Malkin put on Franzen.
Malkin already had a pass when he did not get suspendeed for starting that fight with Zutterburg at the end of game three, that was really OK with me, he should have been penalized for ‘attempting to fight’, geez the only guy in the league he could beat up is Sidney, but that butt-ending was really dirty.
He will get his next year against the Caps, OV usually makes him his girlfreind and is bound to be more ticked now that the jerk has taken to copying OV’s goal celebration.
It will be along time before this team sees the finals again!

If you start suspending guys for minor penalties at the end of games you’re gonna run out of players. As ridiculous as some of the suspensions have been this playoffs…that would be the cherry on top of the s**t sundae of suspensions. What happened in Game 5 should never, ever, ever be the basis of a suspension. If the official wanted to call a 2-minute slash on Crosby…fine. If the officials really wanted to take control, go over and have a word with both coaches.
Granted, if someone were to dare slash Crosby at the end of the game the screaming coming out of Western PA would be deafening, but we digress.
With that being said, I understand what Crosby was doing, and why. In the bigger picture I think it’s a giant load of bollocks (if you just got curb stomped and you need someone to go out and slash someone to “give you energy”…then as they say, that’s your problem- you come off two strong home wins, you have a team on the ropes, and then you go into their barn and just get throttled). It’s a giant heap of crap, but with Crosby as your captain…it’s on him to do it. Malkin is an alternate captain, so again…by virtue of that, he’s got to do something. It’s a load of crap (especially with a 2-day layover between games), but you have to do it…I suppose.
The media writes what it thinks will sell papers, ads, get eyeballs, etc. Period.
